Erasmus Shivolo is the Director of Mines and Mining Commisioner for Namibia, a position he has held since 2004

Having attended the Colarado School of Mines and the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in the US, Mr Shivolo joined the Ministry of Mines and Energy in 1996, starting as an Inspector of Mines Machinery. He moved onto become Chief Engineer in 2001 before being appointed Deputy Director of Mines in 2003.

In his current position he is responsible for the overall implementation of the strategic plan of the department and advises the Minister on the application and administration of the minerals act, mineral policy and the overall regulation of the mining industry.

Mr Shivolo also currently serves as a director on the boards of NamDeb, NamGem and the Minerals Development Fund Control Board as well as holding the position of chairman with the NamDeb Management Committee.
