Hon Ponatshego Kedikilwe,
Minister for Minerals, Energy and Resources,
Government of Botswana

Honourable P.H.K. Kedikilwe is the Minister for Minerals, Energy and Water Resources (MMEWR), the post he has held since January 2007.  He is entrusted with the ministry that oversees the country’s mineral sector, which contributes about a third to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 47% to government revenue and over 70%  to foreign earnings.

The Minister has brought with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of the government and public organizational set up, systems and functions.  The Minister has served as senior civil servant in various government ministries and later in the country’s executive as minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Trade and Industry, Finance and Development Planning and Education.

He has served in various public and private organizations such as Debswana, Botswana Housing Corporation (BHC), Central Bank of Botswana and Botswana Building Society (BBS).
