Mike Griffiths holds a Batchelor of Science from Macquarie University.
He commenced his career in 1982 and after holding a number of positions with various Australian based exploration companies for various commodities including gold, base metals and ferrous metals he joined Otter Exploration as Senior Exploration Geologist, working in the Tanami Desert region of the Northern Territory. During this period, his team discovered a number of significant targets that later developed into gold mines producing in excess of 600,000ozs of gold.
In 1996, he became Exploration Manager for Associated Gold Fields, overseeing all their activities in Ghana, and after the sale of the 2 Moz Obotan project in 1997, Mike became a Director of unlisted Universal Gold which was subsequently merged Maiden Gold NL now Sub-Sahara Resources.
Mike has been the CEO of Sub-Sahara since 2000 and manages the company’s activities in Tanzania and Eritrea.
