China and Africa: China’s Impact on Australian companies doing business in Africa.
How to work effectively with China.
Within the last decade China has made a large impact in many African countries, largely driven by the need for oil and industrial raw materials to feed its fast growing economy. China over the years has deepened its alliances with African countries through its public diplomacy and deep relationships with Africa’s Elite in its push to secure natural resources.
China’s strong influence through the provision of aid, infrastructure investment and trade deals effects how other countries do business in Africa. Not only do organizations now have to consider their African relations but they have to also be able to work affectively with their Chinese counterparts or sometimes in competition with them.
The impact of China on Australian companies investing and operating in Africa will be discussed and explored by our panel of leading China/Africa experts. The panel will primarily look at how we can work with China effectively and collaboratively.
