The fourth annual Africa Australia Research Forum will bring together mining industry, government, civil society and academia. This year’s theme will focus on the role of the extractive sector in regional economic transformation in the countries of Africa. Through keynote addresses, breakout sessions, panel discussions and poster sessions we will explore key topics in detail, such as mapping the potential of Africa's mineral resources, innovation in financing environmental stewardship and the environmental legacy of mining, increasing local procurement through building capacity and capability, adoption and adherence to various voluntary principles and guidelines (UN and OECD). As always the forum seeks to create a dialogue amongst all stakeholders on the latest research in a climate of mutual respect.
