Ally B Samaje

Eng. Ally B. Samaje graduated at School of Mines, University of Zambia (1995) with BSc in Mining Engineering.  He later, obtained Advanced Diploma in Geographical Information System (GIS) from University of Applied Sciences, Berlin (2003). Further to his education career, he joined the Western Australian School of Mines, Curtin University of Technology where he graduated with MSc in Mineral Economics (2009). He joined the Ministry of Energy and Minerals in 1995 immediately after graduating from University of Zambia working as Inspector of Mines and Explosives at Kahama Resident Mines office. Later, in 2000 he was appointed the Resident Mines officer for the same office. In 2004, he worked at Tanga Resident Mines office on the same capacity before being transferred to the Headquarters in Dar es Salaam where he worked as Head of Coordination and Extension Services from 2005 up to mid 2006. In mid 2006, he was appointed Head of Licensing and Mineral Rights Management up to 2007. In 2010, he was appointed the Assistant Commissioner for Minerals responsible for Licensing and Mineral Rights Management, a position he retained up to Sept 2011 when he was appointed the Acting Commissioner for minerals.
