In January 2011, Salif Lamoussa Kaboré was appointed Minister of Mining, Quarries and Energy of Burkina Faso. Before that, he was Director General of Burkina’s National Electricity Society, and Director General of the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Minister Kaboré has also been Chairman of Burkina’s National Society of Hydrocarbon, and an active Member of the National Commission on Investments. Among his numerous involvements in the community, Minister Kaboré is currently President of the National Coalition against HIV/AIDS, Chairman of the Board of Institute of Electric Engineering, and Vice-President of the West African Power Pool. Minister Kaboré holds a master degree in management from the Institut d’Administration des Entreprises de Caen, France and a bachelor of Science degree from the University of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire.
